  • Dalton Gang memento mori 1892.jpg
1892 — The band of American outlaws known as Dalton Gang, while trying to rob 2 banks at once in Coffeyville, Kansas, are gunned down by armed townspeople who were in no mood to put up with bank robbers. Four members of the gang died on the spot and only Emmett Dalton, with no less than 23 holes in his hide, survived to spend 14 years in prison.
