CGI is certified ISO 9001-2004 and has CMMI Levels 3 and 5-compliant global delivery centers. As of September, 2009, CGI had an annual revenue of CA $3.8 billion with an order backlog of CA $10.9 billion.

[edit] Canadian gun registry

CGI is also the company that developed and maintains the hated Canadian gun registry. In April 2009, Dr. John Jones, the chief ethics advisor to the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police quit his post in disgust over, amongst other things, the CACP's acceptance of large financial contributions from CGI.

Much has been made, in the Canadian debate over the long gun registry, of the fact that the CACP supports the registry while taking money from the company that maintains it.

[edit] Notes

  1. CGI stands for "Conseillers en Gestion et Informatique" in French and "Consultants to Government and Industry" in English.
