The National Firearms Association or NFA is a non-profit association based across Canada which lists as its goals to repeal the long gun registry (Bill C-68), which was introduced into Canadian Parliament in 1995 (Now called “Chapter 39 of the 1995 Statues of Canada”). It also supports the promotion of rights of marksmanship, firearm safety and protection of hunting and self-defense. Founded by David A. Tomlinson in 1978. It currently has a national executive that is based across Canada with its current executive residing in British Columbia (President), Newfoundland and Labrador (Vice President) and Ontario (VP of Finance).

In addition to hotel and car rental discounts, the National Firearms Association Liability Insurance (NFALI) is available to all NFA members for CDN$7.95/yr per member.

The NFA is also the publisher of the Canadian Firearms Journal, a magazine containing articles on subjects such as safety, legal issues, events and shooting and hunting.
